Yes finally the day is here, after making an iPhone-levels of pre-launch rumors and hype, Samsung officially unwrapped their flag ship device, as promised. The most anticipated Android smartphone from Samsung in their Galaxy series finally shows its face to the media in London, UK. As you know that the device had been a regular visitor of rumor columns, and some of the rumors and speculations turned to be a hit, while others got missed some where. But don't worry still it's going to be an emperor in the Android world as it offers the power of 1.4GHz quad-core processor in a large 4.8-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display. It also brings you a different user experience with a number of software modifications.
Samsung has packed the device with in a plastic polycarbonate shell with a “hyperglaze” coating exterior, and the design is completed with a physical home button flanked by capacitive menu. There is a 1.9-megapixel camera front facing camera capable of 720p HD video recording and an 8-megapixel 1080p HD capable camera with autofocus and LED flash. The display is a 4.8-inch 720 x 1280 306ppi HD Super AMOLED display.
Now let's check what Samsung keeps in its innards to make it a ruler in the Android world, the 1.4GHz Samsung’s Exynos 4 Quad quad-core processor is the center of attraction, and it is paired with with HSPA+ 21Mbps. The device houses 1GB of RAM, and 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage along with a microSD slot, and is taking all the goodness of Android 4.0 ICS.
There is no need to tell you that it will offer all the connectivity and network options and all the usual sensors. Galaxy S III offers Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi that support WiFi Direct and channel-bonding, digital compass,accelerometer, proximity, barometer and also gyroscope etc.

Yes, Samsung managed to pack so many impressive features in to the device, starting with the eye-tracking feature that rumored earlier, the feature will allow the phone’s display to remain "on" when you are looking at it, and also turn off automatically when you are looking away from the device. This is achieved by the front-facing camera, with this you don't need to tap the phone periodically.
It looks like that Apple's 'Siri' disturbed Samsung’s research, and now Samsung answered with a feature calle d 'S Voice' and this new feature allows the user to unlock the phone with a customizable verbal command, that tell the phone to load app like launch camera and snap a photo, set calendar, go in to snooze mode, play and control their music, turn the volume up or down, and also let you to searche or do other tasks simply by speaking at the phone. If you want to skip a song you are listening you just need to command your phone. You can also search information, text and email compositions and much much more.
Samsung included a Direct Call feature to the device, that allow the users to make the call to the particular person they are texting, just by lifting the phone to their ear. Motion recognition and the proximity sensor are used to do make these 'Direct Call'. 'Smart Alert' trying to figure out the most important calls and texts, and will inform you when the phone has been picked up after idling by vibrating gently.
Other impressive feature Samsung included in their flagship model is the 'S Beam' technology. This is seems to be just an expansion of Android Beam, and with this you can share files between two SGS III devices, by simply tapping their phones each other, that also with a high speed. Just three minutes are required to share 1GB files, and for a song that sizes about 10 MB can be transferred with in two seconds.
Samsung's AllShare feature getting a new face in the Galaxy S III, letting you send the files on your device to a larger display like television, an easy DLNA sharing of your on-screen images, while the AllShare Play will allow the users to access the multimedia contents on devices like tablets, smartphones and PCs. If your friends are using the same Wi-Fi network then with the 'Group Cast' feature you can share your screen with your friends, and let's the to draw on it while sharing information in real-time. One more interesting feature named Pop-up Play, is like a picture-in-picture mode for the phone, that floats a playing video in a draggable thumbnail over any other app.
Now move in to camera in detail, for any smartphone camera may be the prime focus, as there is a photographer hiding in most of us who never want to miss a single moment in our life, taking this in consideration Samsung designed the camera for SGS III. Samsung wants to makes your photography experience more exciting with their 8MP camera on the rear side. Samsung have included some apps to enrich your photos, like 'Burst Shot' function which snaps 20 pictures continuously at up to 6fps and, and the 'Best Photo' feature will select the best eight photos for you. Samsung claims that the camera offers “zero-lag shutter speed” and an improved backside illumination for a perfect shot.
Now once you clicks the photo, with the 'Buddy Photo Share' the faces in the images automatically matches with the images you saved in your contacts, and you can instantly share these photos with them, if you are interested. It also offers features like Social Tag, Group Tag etc.
Samsung is offering SGS III with preload Dropbox, with 50GB of free storage for two years to each Galaxy S III buyer. The new Android version of Flipboard pulls in news, Tweets and other content on an easily-navigable interface and the SGS III users are lucky to experience this feature.
Samsung plans to roll out the 3G version of the device on 29th of May in Europe first, and the North American release after that. Japan and South Korea are getting the device sometime this summer. The device will be offered in Pebble Blue or Marble White at launch initially, but there may be a chance to get make over with some additional colors.
