Yes the time is over now, for those crazy leaks and rumors. The Chinese makers officially unwrapped their new device in the Ascend line-up, the oft-leaked Ascend P2. Huawei did this official announcement just one day before the MWC. The Ascend P2 is not going to be the company's flagship device for the time, but still it rocks with some exciting features to impress the customers.

Coming to the features side, Huawei Ascend P2 packs a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, the same processor that powers Ascend D2, company's flagship device announced at CES last month. The quad core processor is assisted by a 1 GB RAM and there is a 16GB on-board storage. But unfortunately there is no microSD card support to expand the storage, in case if you are in need of extra storage options.
As leaked last week, the Ascend P2 sports a 4.7-inch 720p IPS screen that offers 312ppi. But earlier it was rumored to be joining the 1080p club. The screen comes with Gorilla Glass 2 layer protection on its ‘infinity edge’ display. You can navigate on the screen with gloves or nails, as capacitive touchscreen layer is embedded inside the display cell. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Huawei's Emotion UI v1.6 on the top.
There is a dedicated hardware camera key on the device, that helps us to take shot within a span of time. The 13 MP camera on the rear side offers 1080p video recording with HDR.
In case of network and connectivity it offers Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G with HSPA, and also offers LTE support. According to Huawei the device offers fastest LTE speed on a smartphone, 150Mbps, but reportedly it will work fine with some selected networks.
More than that P2 uses Quick Power Control (QPC) and employs a new power saving technic, Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX), that reduce the power consumption and charging time by more than 25% than its rivals.
The device is expected to launch in second quarter of this year, globally and the expected retail price is about €400.
