Tomorrow marks an important day for Apple as Iphone 5S goes on Sale from China Mobile

Apple is reported to have received thousands of pre-orders for the iPhone 5S even days before it officially goes on sale from China Mobile on Friday, January 17, 2014. To manage the rush China mobile is reported to have stocked 1.4 million iPhone 5S handset ready for disposal. According to reports on Wall Street journal Foxconn have shipped this much iPhone 5S handsets to the largest mobile carrier in China.

The contract with China Mobile is important to Apple because this carrier is the world's largest in terms of subscriber base. China Mobile subscriber base now stands at 750 million.

Other smaller operators like China Unicom and China Telecom are already selling iPhone 5S in China since they launched last year. Both the carriers have dropped the contract prices to combat the possible threat from China Mobile iPhone launch. But what might go in favor of China Mobile would be the newly introduced 4G network. The rival are still planning to implement 4G network.

However, the competition for iPhone in China will be from the android devices of Samsung, Xiaomi and Lenovo. iPhone still have only 6% penetration in the Chinese smartphone market.

Apple - China mobile contract came into existence after and long struggle from Apple. Though the initial shipment stats are available the future shipments are not let out by Apple.
