LG's 15-inch OLED TV is bound to hit the markets in December. It is using an active-matrix organic light emitting diodes for display. This LED uses self glowing materials for its working and deliver high picture quality while consuming less power.
OLED televisions are thinner than widely used LCD TV but pricier. High price which kept it from mass production allowed the LCD panels to dominate markets. This is the reason why Sony has not followed new models yet after the launching of world's first OLED TV in 2007. LG's 15 inch OLED TV is getting released first in Korea for an unrevealed price.
We have to wait further to see the price-tag it carries. The prototype of the TV ran at 1366 X 768 resolution with 1,000,000:1 contrast. However we do expect it fit our pockets.
