Google at its second day of I/O conference, officially announced the latest version of its Android platform, Android 2.2 Froyo. The new vesion is coming with lot of improvements like Adobe Flash 10.1 support, tethering and portable hotspot capabilities, Microsoft Exchange integration, faster web browser, enhanced voice recognition, etc for better performance. Google claims that this will be the fastest mobile browser in the world.
The improvements in the browser makes the Java Script elements to render 2 to 3 times faster. The Froyo is offering an excelllent sharing of new stuff. The Froyo provides an options to installing the app to memory card. The new version provides auto updation. You will get an auto updation for your app.
The other features includes
- Dedicated shortcuts on the Home screen for Phone, applications Launcher and Browser
- Users can now switch between multiple Latin-based input languages
- Faster app switching and smoother performance on memory-constrained phones
- New Dalvik JIT compiler for a 2-5X performance improvement in CPU-bound code
- Camera supports zoom controls, portrait orientation, access to exposure data, and a thumbnail utility
- Android Application Error Reports
Google also claims that the Froyo will be 'will be made available to OEMs and the open source community in the coming weeks' and the developers can download the Android 2.2 Froyo SDK via the Android Developers website.
