Toshiba today unwrapped three new tablets with a wide range of screen options -- Excite 7.7, Excite 10, and Excite 13 with 7.7, 10.1 and 13.3-inch displays, in their Excite tablet line up. All the three rocks with quad-core Tegra 3 processor filled with the flavors of Android 4.0 ICS. Toshiba have used an aluminium body for its new tablets andGorilla glass displays. Both Excite 13 and 7.7 will be available in June only, while the Excite 10 will go on sale from next month itself.
Let's have a look at the specifications of the devices in detail, starting with the smaller one, Excite 7.7. As we said the device features a 7.7-inch 1280×800 AMOLED screen panel. Behind the 7.7-inch display you will get a 1GB of RAM, Tegra 3 quad-core processor etc. Micro USB and microSD card slots are provided on the side of the tablet. 5 MP rear facing and 2 MP front facing cameras are also included in the device. Toshiba seems to have designed this tablet to rival Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.7. There are two versions of the device available --16 GB and 32 GB and they are priced at $499.99 and $579.99 respectively.
Now comes the second one Excite 10, with a 10.1-inch screen seems to be more pedestrian screen size but offers some attractive features. The 10-inch display offers 1280×800 resolution which is pretty good in 10-inch tablet range. The camera features are same in all the 3 tablets, so let's talk about other specifications. It offers a full sized SD card slot and also MicroHDMI and microUSB ports. The battery life from the device is about 10 hours. The device measures just .35-inch thick and weighs 1.32 pounds. Here you will get three choices of memory options including 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The price tag for these devices are $449.99 $529.99 and $649.99 respectively.
Finally the big brother, the huge tablet with a massive display, Toshiba Excite 13. The larger display looks quite impressive and can make waves in the market, as it not so common in tablet space. Toshiba promotes this device as "ideally suited for the home," and if you were really looking on a larger tablet then this is yours. Apart from the 13.3-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio and 1600x900 resolution, the device offers full sized SD card slot, micro HDMI and micro USB ports. The 0.4-inch thick tablet offers a battery life of 13 hours. Both 32 GB and 64 GB models of the device are available starting from June 10 for a price of $649.99 and $749.99 respectively.
