Dell XPS 18 Is An All In One Tablet Desktop

All In One desktops are in the markets for quite some time, but an all in one tablet with an in-built battery is some thing different. But again, this concept is not all new as Sony for instance already have Vaio Tap20 with a similar size and design. Dell XPS 18 however is lighter than the Sony's version that weighs about 11 pounds, not a weight that can be called ultra portable. Dell XPS 18 is just below 5 pounds and has a battery that can power the device for up to 5 hours.

Dell XPS 18 runs on Windows 8, it has an 18.4 inch touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The price starts at $900 for a version that is powered by Intel Pentium ULV dual-core processor. For extra dollars you can opt for specifications that can range up to  Intel Core i7 processor, 512GB SSD, and 8GB RAM.

In the past we have seen innovations in similar lines including that of the Asus transfomer AiO. But this is not essentially a single piece machine. It has two parts, a desktop station that runs a windows software and a display portion that has android incorporated.

Whether this concept from Dell creates a wave in the market is yet to be seen and it is the consumer who need to decide on whether they need to spent on an tablet or opt for a tablet with similar configuration and weight.
