After Google launched their latest Android OS Android 2.2 Froyo, HTC had confirmed that their 2010 launched devices will get Android 2.2 updates soon in the future. Now Sprint's HTC Evo is also getting Android 2.2 updates. Sprint officially confirmed the details to roll out Android 2.2 Froyo for their EVO 4G.
Some of the users will get the updates from friday as a part of initial test roll out, and for all those users who are eagerly waiting for Froyo updates will get the full benefits starting from August 3 as the the updates will drop down to all Evo 4G users. But the interesting thing is that Sprint is not planning for just an Android update, and is offering much more to consumers including improved browser performance with faster JavaScript engine and Adobe Flash support, improvements in voice dialing over Bluetooth, 4-way camera rotation, expanded application storage to allow more apps, new UI for the FM radio app and a quick language key switch on the keyboard etc.
