Just an hour before the much anticipated Sony press conference at IFA 2013, Sony QX10 and QX100 lenses gets listed on Amazon.com. This leaves with little surprise from Sony for the scheduled press meet. However Sony Xperia Z1 still excites with its proposed 20MP rear camera.
QX10 smartphone attachable lens is priced $249 at amazon. This lens has the ability to turn your smartphone into a camera with 10X zoom. The lens connects to the phone using NFC or WiFi. It works with android and IOS smartphones and take pictures with the quality of a dedicated camera. The lens can be connected to a phone via clip.
There is an SD card slot that can be found on the lens. Once connected your smartphone becomes viewing screen and act as a trigger to shoot images.Sony claims that the 18MP 1/2.3” Exmor R® CMOS sensor captures noise free images even under low light conditions. The lens also functions when uncoupled from the phone. You can place the lens else where and shoot a picture using the smartphone in your hands.
QX100 is also similar in functions and the way it captures and attaches to the phones. QX100 is listed for $498. The difference of QX100 is with sensor, aperture and Zoom. QX100 has f/1.8-f/4.9 lens and features 20MP large 1” Exmor R® CMOS sensor. It has F1.8 Carl Zeiss® lens with 3.6x optical zoom.
The lenses are available in White and Black color options. They are now available for pre order and will be released on September 27.
