Acer Introduced DX241H 24-inch "Web Surf Station" monitor with PC functionality


Acer introduced a new device, 24-inch monitor DX241H, a device with PC functionality. The device which is dubbed as a "Web Surf Station" is a combination of a computer and a monitor and offer the users some limited functions of a computer.


Acer DX241H is coming with preloaded DLNA-based media player and Google Chrome web browser. It also sports a slide-out QWERTY remote control with which you can control the media and also the web.


The device got a 1920 x 1080p resolution screen, 2ms response time, 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, D-Sub, 300cd/m2 brightness, HDMI etc.


Ethernet or a wireless network adapter connect the monitor to the internet. USB 2.0 port is used for connecting the internet it is also used for connecting thumb drives for playing media.


The device is available for pre order for $410 in Europe.
