The Optimus Pad from LG is finally going on sale. The device (LG Optimus Pad aka G-Slate in U.S) is first hitting in Japan via NTT DoCoMo, before it launches in U.S. NTT DoCoMo is offering the device later this week, possibly on March 31.But there is not yet a confirmed release date for the device in U.S. T-Mobile is launching the device in U.S.
The carrier NTT DoCoMo announced today that, there may be some delay, and is not possible to offer the device at all stores in the beginning, because of the tsunami and the earthquake.
The Optimus Pad is coming with pretty good specifications like an 8.9-inch capacitive touch screen display with 1280×768 resolution, 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, Android 3.0 Honeycomb, dual-5 MP cameras with 1080p 2D recording and 720p 3D recording, 1.2 MP front-facing camera for video calls, built in WiFi and 3G etc.Even the device offering you a 3D recording it is not so easy to view the 3D 3D recordings, and you either need to wear a 3D glasses or to pump it to your 3D enabled TV via HDMI 1.4.
The company is offering the device in Japan starting, and you can expect it in other countries soon.
