According to Lenovo we don't have to wait 'much longer for their new Thinkpad device X100e. It is not X200e as we assumed previously which confirmed its launching on 5th January 2010. X100e is coming with a tagline 'Entry level ultra portable, the first ThinkPad of its size'.

The X100e appears to have a matt black finishing. Thinkpad seems to be using a 12.1 inch TFT LCD diaplay with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and is supposed to be using either AMD Athlon Neo processor (1.6GHz) with dedicated ATI Radeon HD3410 GPU or Intel Centrino ULV (1.4GHz) processor with GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics

Other key features of the device includes integrated mobile broadband, 3GB DDR2 RAM, Windows 7 OS, 160/250/320GB hard drive, possibly with a few SSD options, UltraBase docking station with built-in optical drive, also an optional support for Gobi 3G. Thinkpad can handle Windows Aero graphic UI well and some basic gaming and full HD 1080p video playback.

And all these specifications are not finalised yet. Price details are also not available now.
