Onkyo Announced 10.1-inch MX1007A4 Netbook With 14.4 Hour Battery, But Slow CPU

Onkyo Japan announced a new netbook, known as MX1007A4, according to Onkyo the main feature of the device is its 14.4 hours of run time with a single battery charge. This is only because of it is using Intel’s 1.2GHz Atom Z515 chip paired with 1GB of RAM and this economical setup will provide more runtime. But the performance side is still in doubt and is disappointing at first glance on the specifications.

The specifications includes

  • 10.1-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution

  • 1.2GHz Atom Z515 processor

  • 1GB RAM and 250GB HDD

  • GMA 500 graphics

  • 802.11b/g Wi-Fi

  • 1.3MP webcam

  • 2x USB, VGA, card reader, audio jacks

  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR

  • Windows 7 Starter

The device measures just 1.16 KG weighs with 266 x 230 x 18 - 22mm dimensions. The design does not seems to be an updated one and it feels like coming from a couple of years ago. Even it can offer you juice for a full working day and even beyond that, then if you have to wait for the CPU to churn for half that time then this won't be efficient at all.

The device will be hitting the market by April 10th 2010 in Japan. No words on pricing.
