According to a latest analysis by Deutsche Bank, Motorola managed to sell just 100000 Xoom Tablets until now. For a tablet which was expected to be an ipad killer these numbers shows poor interest from the buyers. So is it the device which has to be blamed for the low sales numbers? If we go through the interest that this device generated during its launch in CES 2011 we could not think in that line. From the users reviews of the device it can be found that the device is of top quality when it comes to web browsing and other technical features.

Surprisingly it was the first device to be launched with tablet optimised google android honeycomb OS. These sales numbers however look meager when we look at the fact that the ipad2 crossed these number within 2 minutes they were made available. Ipad 2 now reportedly crossed sales numbers of 2.4 million units.
There may be several factors that led to the low sales numbers and it is for the Motorola officials to analyse them before launching a second version for the device. The deterrent could be the hatch ling honeycomb OS or could be the retailers preferring ipad sales over Xoom for unknown reasons. Other factor may be that it is a little pricey. What ever it could be, the Motorola engineers and think tanks must sweat it out to find a way to bring up the sales number of this fine little gadget at least to please the investors.
