The new iPod Touch is the thinnest iPod touch to date, measuring just 6.1mm (0.24 inches) thick and weighs 88 grams (3.1 ounces).

The device packs with A5 processor, that offers seven times the graphics performance of the last-gen model, says Apple. The battery life is also getting tremendous improvement compared to the previous models, offering 40 hours of music playback, or eight hours of video.

Of course the camera is also upgraded, with a 5MP rear camera with a backside-illuminated f/2.4 lens, the device can capture 1080p video. Apple has also included image stabilization and panorama shooting mode. A 720p Facetime front shooter is also present in the device.

Icing on the cake, is the presence of  Siri integration and the goodness of iOS 6. excited..?

The new iPod Touch is available in five stunning colors including "raw aluminum," black, yellow, blue, red and a (PRODUCT) RED.

Apple has set the price details for the device, starting from $299 for a 32GB model, and there is also a 64 GB version that is available for $399.
