The rumors around the tablet PC from Apple are coming out from the past few days and the latest of this is about the name and size of the display.

The tablet is expected to be named iSlate, because the Apple has already registered the iSlate trademark. The term Slate is familiar for the Apple as in early 1990's Apple released a tablet prototype called 'MessageSlate' that was based on the Newton technology. But never went into production that time. The name iSlate perfectly fits their naming practices like iPhone, iPod, iMac, iTunes etc.

The reports suggests that the new device is coming with a 10-inch display, and the screen will be outstandingly strong and not protected inside a clam shell like the netbooks. The designers has to take extra measures for the prevention of easy breakage.

The tablet is expected to use the iPhone OS and should have a wireless access to the internet including iTunes either with 3G or Wifi connection. You can expect almost all the features of a mobile computer in the new device.

The price will be somewhere between $800 to $1,000.
