Water-proof LG Optimus GJ reportedly coming to Taiwan

While LG is busy with the successor of their Optimus G device (one of the first high end smartphones from LG that is responsible for LG’s smartphone sales growth), the company is also planning to launch some other version of the device too. LG sends out launch invitations for May 22, to the media in Taiwan and according to E-Price, this will be for a new device dubbed as Optimus GJ.

As per source, the Optimus GI is just a waterproof version of the original Optimus G, and rest of the features are the same. So we can expect a 4.7" display, 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB DDR RAM, 32GB of storage etc. Optimus GJ will have the IPX7 waterproof certification that means you can submerge the Optimus GJ in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes, turning the 13 MP camera to under water camera.

LG Optimus GJ is not the first device of this kind, and in fact LG already have introduced the water friendly version of Optimus G for NTT Docomo in Japan. Optimus GJ is set to launch on May 22 in Taiwan, and they have also planned for another press event in Macau on May 30 for another 'G' device, may be for Optimus G2.
