So far it was verizon which had this title of largest player in wireless market. The $39 Billion purchase of T-mobile will make AT & T the largest wireless company in US of America. Reports says that the AT & T has signed an agreement with Deutsche Telekom AG to but into T-mobile in a cash and stock deal. The companies have issued a joint statement on the deal.
Board of directors of AT&T and Deutsche Telekom has approved on the acquisition. This is subject to the approvals by the regulatory authority which is expected to take close to one year. As a part of the deal AT& T will pay cash of $25 billion and the remaining cost can be covered by AT&T common stocks. AT & T can raise the cash pay by upto $4.2 billion.
Deutsche Telekom will get 8% of the AT& T stock and the company can have a representative in the board.
