Google Chromebooks Available Now

Google is ready to topple the Microsoft's market share in netbook and notebook sales by officially stepping into the desktop operating system. Announced long back and completely revealed the details at Google I/O Google I/O developer conference in May now goes on sale. Yes, we are talking about the innovative Google Chrome books. Acer and Samsung are the opening partners of Google for Chromebooks, and the devices are thus originated are Acer Cromia and Samsung Series 5. Both are available online from Amazon and Best Buy, in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and U.K.


Google claims that the Chrome book will give you a new level of netbooking experience with faster, simpler and more secure operating system. The netbooks boots in less than 10 secs and is also quick to recover from sleep mode.


Acer Cromia is an entry level 11.6-inch device with dual core 1.66 GHz Atom power and features 16 GB SSD, 2GB of RAM, six hour battery and is available for $389. A 3G version of the device is also available, for $450. There are significant improvements seen in this browser based OS from the test model released few months back for select people.


The Samsung Series 5 is a step further, a 12-inch device with 8.5 hours of battery. The Series 5 starts up with $430 with WiFi and $500 for 3G models.
