AT&T Officially Launches Rugged Pantech Renue For $69.99 On Contract

Just two days ago we spotted QWERTY keypad smartphone from Pantech, the Pantech Star Q with a dual core processor, on its way to join Verizon Wireless's 4G LTE network. Now the company introduced one more QWERTY keypad device, and this time the device is headed to AT&T. Pantech officially introduced this messaging smartphone, Pantech Renue in US, and it seems to be an entry level smartphone. AT&T is offering the device for $69.99 on contract (after a $50 mail-in rebate).

It features a four row sliding keypad, for those who are really stuck with a physical keypad. Pantech designed the device as a rugged one, meeting military standard 810G, and offers protection from sand, dust, humidity, temperature, radiation, vibration etc. The company uses 67% recyclable materials to finish the device, while packing 95% “recycled paper and non-POV soy ink.”

The Renue offers a 3.2 inch QVGA touchscreen display, 3MP rear camera, Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform, full Web browser, HSDPA etc.

The device will be available now in, both online and also from some authorized retailers.
