Google Nexus 4 offered 25% discount at Google Play stores

Google have announces a 25% and more price cut on their nexus phone. This means the phone will be available with a starting price of $199 for the 8 GB model, while the 16 GB model will be priced $249.



Google made the announcement through their official twitter profile. Industry observers believe that the move is intended to sell more phones when Apple is believed to launch a low cost iPhone 5C next month. Google may also be reducing the Nexus 4  stock as they are believed to be preparing a successor for Nexus phone. Google owned Motorola is said to be making the next version Nexus 4.

The discount is currently offered in UK, United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain and France. Now the price of the 8 GB version of the device in those countries will be as follows.

  • UK: 159 GBP

  • US: 199 USD

  • Canada:199 CAD

  • Australia: 249 AUD

  • Germany: 199 Euros

  • Spain: 199 Euros

  • France: 199 Euros






The current version of Nexus 4 has a 4.7 inch display that offers 1280 X 768 pixels resolution  with 320ppi. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro processor along with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage as we mentioned above is available as 8GB and 16 GB variant phones. Nexus 4 weights 139g and has dimensions 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm. The rear camera in the phone shoots 8MP images while there is another camera in the front that shoots 1.3MP images.

WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2, NFC (Android Beam) and Bluetooth are the connectivity options available. 2,100mAh battery offers life to the battery. Nexus 4 runs on Android 4.2 jelly bean OS. The specifications of the device still looks healthy in front of several new releases including Google's own Moto X. The price cut means a great opportunity for the first time buyers.
