Google Updated Google Maps For Android Mobile Devices With Biking Directions Navigation Shortcuts And More


Google just updated the Google Maps for the Android devices, and the latest version will provide the users a more accurate biking directions and will also provide a navigation shortcut and built in sharing options.


Just recently Google added biking directions for the desktop versions. Now the same feature is available for mobile devices also in the National Bike Month.


Google had also included a " Bicycling layer" on the map with which user will get a dedicated bike-only trails (indicated by dark green), roads that are good for biking but lack a dedicated lane (indicated by dashed green) and also roads with bike lanes also (indicated by light green). The feature is accessible via the Layers.


The updated Google Maps provides an option for adding the Google Maps navigation in Home screens which will provide an easier access for the user, and also provides the option of sharing with which users can share with friends where they are going .


For getting all this features you have to download Google Maps version 4.2. The feature will work on the devices from Android 1.6 versions.
