Nokia and Yahoo announced their partnership, the strategic alliance which was known as Project Nike previously. This will help both of the companies to 'leverage strengths in e-mail, instant messaging, maps and navigation across PC and mobile devices'.
As this collaboration becomes public officially, Yahoo now become an exclusive provider of Nokia's Ovi mail and Ovi chat service. And also Nokia's Ovi Maps service will now become an exclusive provider of Yahoo's navigation and Maps services.
Nokia's Ovi chat and Ovi Mail is now rebranded as Ovi mail powered by Yahoo. They are trying to make enough space and to compete against its rivals with this partnership. Anyway the efforts will come into effect only from second half of 2010.
