HTC is busy in recent times launching several devices back to back. Now is the turn for HTC Desire 500 to create interest among smartphone buyers. The device is launched in their domestic market Taiwan. It is a mid range device primarily targeting the youth brigade.
HTC Desire 500 has got a 4.3 inch wide display with 480x800 pixels resolution. A 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon200 quad-core processor forms the core of the device along with 1GB of RAM. It runs on Andriod 4.2 with HTC Sense User Interface on top and Blinkfeed UI. Dual speakers can be found on the front panel of the phone.
There is 4 GB Internal storage which can be further expanded up to 64 GB using a microSD card. The rear camera is 8 MP and the front shooter is 1.6 MP. HTC Desire 500 features Beats Audio like most of the HTC smartphones but does not have the BoomSound found on HTC One. The battery is 1,800 mAh, which according to HTC can deliver a talk time of 17.8 hours and 401 hours stand by for the device.
Price of HTC Desire 500 in Taiwan is NT$11,900, which is approximately US $400. It will be available in August in select markets. The global roll out is expected sometime in September 2013. It weighs 123 g with dimensions ranging 131.8x66.9x9.9mm.
