Intex added a new device to its Aqua series of smart phones today. The newly added Aqua i4+ features a 5 inch FWVGA display with 854 x 480 pixel resolution. It is a pattern now followed by the smartphone makers to add a + to an upgraded device. Intex Aqua i4+ is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. This is a dual SIM GSM+GSM phone. The internal storage is the usual 4 GB, and can be expanded using microSD card. The rear camera is 8 MP AF with LED flash, and there is a 1.3 MP front camera for video chat. The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The specifications of the phone is that of a lower mid range phone. On the listed price of Rs. 7600, Intex will have to compete with the devices from Karbonn, Micromax and iBall. Alcatel Idol X+ get launched in China. The phone comes with an octa-core processor which will be USP of the device. Currently launched in India the phone may make its appearance in other countries as well. Idol X+ has 5 inch full HD 1080p display. The display is given additional protection using Asahi Dragontrail glass. It is powered by the latest octa-core processor from MediaTek, the MT6592, clocked at 2 GHz. iBall has released a new budget smartphone in India. The device is not officially announced by the company. However the phone is on sale on eBay India site for Rs. 7395. The phone features a 4.5 inch IPS display with qHD (960x540p) resolution. iBall Andi 4.5-K6 is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual core Cortex A7 processor along with 1 GB of RAM. There is 4 GB of expandable internal storage. The phone comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out of the box. 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/ AGPS are the connectivity options. The battery is of 1600mAH capacity. The rear camera is 8 MP auto focus camera with flash. There is a VGA front camera for video calling. Currently the availability is only seen on the eBay site. Nokia Lumia 1320 goes on sale in China. Countries like Hong kong, Taiwan and Singapore will get the device followed by other countries like India and European countries. Nokia had announced the phone in last week. At the time of launch it was said that the device will be launched in January 2014. Lumia 1320 features a 6-inch wide IPS display with 720p resolution (245 ppi). This Windows 8 Phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. Adreno 305 is the GPU. Oppo is releasing the teasers of the Oppo Find 7 in schedules to keep the interests high. In a recent teaser on the official twitter channel the company has confirmed that the device will come with a 5.5 inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution at 538 ppi. This translates into a crystal clear display.  The tweet further says that the phone actually will look like a 5 inch device which mean that it will have a minimal bezel. Oppo R1 came to news some time during the first week of December. The existence of the product was revealed in photos that appeared on the official page of Oppo on a Chinese social networking site. A version of this tablet was launched in November in the iBall 'edu slide' series. Now the tablet comes stripped off the education content and price reduced to Rs. 17,999 from the earlier price of Rs. 36,999. iBall Slide 3G Q1035 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Cortex-A7 processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The make of chipset is known yet. The device runs Android 4.2 OS. Battery is of 6000mAH capacity which is sure of give a good talk time. The 10.1 inch IPS display offers 1280x800 HD resolution. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 launched officially in India. It comes in three different colors - Black, white and pink. Samsung Galaxy grand is quite successful in India which obviously tempted Samsung to launch an updated version of the device. In the specifications front the device comes with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The rear camera is 8 MP and there is 1.9 MP front camera. The phone is powered by Qualcomm quad core processor. The battery is of 2,600 mAH capacity. This is a dual sim phone. A unique feature is that when the user receive a call on the second sim while talking on the first sim, it automatically switches to the second sim enabling user to pick the call immediately. Samsung also launched Samsung club. It comes free with Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. The price of the device is expected in the range of 22900 and 24900. The price will be officially released in January when the devices actually hits the shelves.

It obviously had some uncertainties surrounding the launch. There were many speculations on whether or not the devices will see a China mobile launch. Now the picture is more clear as the launch date of China Mobile Apple Iphone 5S and 5C is confirmed to January 17. The launch of the phones on China Mobile is huge because it is the alliance of two biggies in the industry. China mobile is world's largest carrier with over 700 million subscribers and Apple, as you know, held the record of selling most number of smartphones in the world. Lava launches yet another entry level smartphone called Lava 3G 402+ in Indian market. This phone is the successor of its 3G 402. It is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) phone that features a 4 Inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The Lava 3G 402+ is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM. There is 4 GB internal storage in this phone. The previous version had just 256 MB of RAM and upto 512MB internal memory. The rear camera in the phone is 3 MP while there is VGA camera for video chat. Connectivity options includes Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, and GPS/ AGPS. The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. There are other phones in the market in the same price segment. Xolo A500S, Panasonic T31 and Spice Stellar Glamour are the popular phones in this segment. A bigger version of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is in the rumors for some time now. Now a post on a Korean forum as quoted by SammyHub somewhat gives a confirmation on this bigger Note. According to Sammyhub Samsung has confirmed the 12.2-inch Samsung Galaxy Note Pro (SM-P900) in a private event in Korea. The specifications of this bigger tablet is much identical to that of the Galaxy Note 10.1. It features a WQXGA display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. Oppo N1 had created waves in the smartphone industry before and after it was launched. The phone does have some unique features that make it stand apart. We already know that this device is coming. Nokia Lumia 525 is now available in Singapore and Vietnam. The phone is priced SGD 249 which is just US $200 in Singapore. Oppo N1 from the Chinese manufacturer Oppo was recently in the news for its heavy specifications and a 13 MP camera that can rotate. The same camera can be used as the front and rear camera. This feature is new and not seen in any other android devices. It comes pre-installed with CyanogenMod android application. Buyers have the option to take the phone with Android skin or CyanogenMod or both installed. Oppo N1 is powered by a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor along with 2 GB of RAM.
