Lava launches yet another smartphone in India. The new Lava Iris 503 features a 5 inch display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution. The phone is priced Rs. 9,999 at launch which might be available for around Rs. 9,000 after discounts.
Lava Iris 503 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor along with 512 MB RAM. The phone has 4 GB of internal storage memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD card. The battery is of 2,000 mAH capacity. Android Jelly Bean 4.2 is the Operating system. Connectivity options includes 3G, Bluetooth and WiFi. The rear camera is 5 MP while the front camera is 1.2 MP.
Going through the specifications I personally feel that 512 MB RAM is bit less for a device 5 inches wide. For the price which is around Rs. 9000, processor could also have been a quad core. Other specifications of the device are quite normal for a mid range smartphone.
Iris 503 is not the only device launched by Lava today. There is a budget 3G smartphone called Lava 3G 402. This phone is priced Rs. 5499.
Lava 3G 402 has a 4 inch display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. Other specifications of the phone includes 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 256 MB RAM, 3 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, 1500 mAH battery. Connectivity options are 3G, WiFi and bluetooth. Operating system is Android Jelly Bean 4.2.
The specifications of Lava 3G 402 is below par with just 256 MB RAM, which is unusually low. But the pricing is attractive as you get a 3G device for around Rs. 5000.
