FaceBook 'Sympathize' button coming

How often have you clicked 'Like' button for a tragic or sad post update on Facebook? If you have not done it, you might have wondered on the number of people 'like' a tragedy or a mishap. It is obviously awkward to do that. Facebook engineers are now testing a 'sympathize' button for such sad stories. Whether it substitutes the 'like' button automatically for sad stories is to be seen.
The concept goes like this. If someone adds from the Facebook's fixed list of impressions like 'sad,' 'depressed' etc the 'like' button will be changed to 'sympathize.' The sympathize feature was devised by an  engineer during the Facebook Hackathon held a little while back.
However though the idea is appreciated by the FB insiders, we are unlikely to see 'sympathize' button soon as Facebook believes that it is not the right time for the change.
Hackathons are important events for Facebook. Many changes and newly introduced features came through hackathons. Timeline profile pages, Facebook chat, friend suggester, and even the 'like' button emerged at hackathons. So we can be hopeful and once realized you will see 'two people sympathize with this' in place of 'two people like this' for not so happy events posted.
