Have you got a digital photo frame which you do not use any more? Please wait for a while before you throw it away because you can make a beautiful gift out of it. Matt Mets took just one look at his unused digital photo frame and he made this beautiful DIY word clock, a clock that spells each minute in words.
He generated picture of each minute in a 12 hour clock cycle with the help of a computer program. Then he set the photo frame to advance the images in every minute. A microcontroller circuit is added to press the forward button for every minute as his digital frame did not have the option of one minute delay.
You can make clocks with animations too, by integrating favorite photos, or change colors etc. We expect the future clocks will take inspiration from his word clock design.
