World’s First 4G Network Unveiled By TeliaSonera

TeliaSonera unveiled the world's first 4G network for their customers in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden. The company claims that their 4G network is 10 times faster than 3G and has a boasting speed up to 100 Mbps.

As it is based on the Long Term Evolution it will be available for those mobiles with LTE. Samsung LTE USB card is fine with 4G. The company will offer the 4G network service with reasonable monthly contract (around $0.56) during its service trial period. After the trial period (after 1 July 2010), it will be around $84 per month, with 4G Samsung modem and upto 30 GB of data per month. Users have to purchase the modem only after the trial period as it offers the modem free of cost during the trial period.


The company is working hard to spread their 4G networks over 25 largest cities in Sweden and 4 largest cities in Norway in 2010. TeliaSonera worked with Ericsson and Huawei for their 4G network development.


The success behind the TeliaSonera’s LTE network shows a great sign of advance in technology. It is signaling a boom in this area in future as almost every mobile phone network giants are working hard for the deployments in the LTE networks.
