NEC, a Japanese multinational IT company announced a new LCD which is based on green enginnering and needs less power to function. 'MultiSync EA222WMe' from NEC consumes 52 % less power than power consumed by an average 22-inch LCD display. The panel of this new device is LED backlit which reduces the power consumption and produce 25% less heat.
The MultiSync EA222WMe can adjsut its height and has a display with 16:10 aspect ratio. 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The screen resolution is 1680 x 1050. Other features includes a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and USB, DVI, VGA and display port connectivity. The monitor will ship with 15% less packaging in December. It is priced at $339.
