It seems like the Maemo is not dedicated to Nokia. There is an unnamed handset which is going to be released next year, but Optima OP5-E, from the Chinese division of the Australian company Optima is going through the last round of software test and is almost ready to hit the market.
The device looks like an iPhone and there are some similarities to N810 Nokia's keyboard less version. The first non-Nokia Maemo device OP5-E Mobile Internet Device (MID) is coming with so many features which includes a 4.3-inch resistive WVGA touch screen, WiFi 802.11b/g,5.6" x 2.9" x 0.69" slate's 806MHz Marvell PXA320 CPU, CDMA2000 1X EVDO 3G connectivity (HSDPA coming next month), 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, Bluetooth 2.0, T-flash/microSD card slot up to 16GB supported, 3.2-megapixel camera, 2,600mAh removable li-polymer battery with 8-hour run time and VGA camera up front for video calls. One of the main attraction of OPE-5 is the VOIP possibility.
There is no TV output in the OPE-5. It will be available for $500 and will be a better alternative to Nokia for those who are not be-charmed with hardware keyboard of N900
