Samsung Is Coming Up With 512GB SSD with Toggle-mode DDR


Samsung announced a 512GB SSD, particularly designed for high end notebooks to achieve greater reliability and performance which employs a toggle-mode DDR NAND technology. This all new SSD offering a three times faster speed than the conventional HDDs as the toggle-mode DDR structure coupled with SATA 3.0Gbps interface, to offer a maximum sequential read speed of 250MB/s and read speed to up to 220MB/s. This can copy two 4GB DVDs in under a minute.


Samsung also developed a low-power controller for toggle-mode DDR which increases the performance of the devices without increasing the power consumption.


The SSD uses a 30nm 32GB chip and is coming with a 256-bit AES encryption and Windows 7 TRIM support. Samsung will start the mass production of this new 512 GB SSD from next month.
