Steve Jobs Announced Apple iPhone 4 Officially At WWDC 2010


The long awaited, long rumored Apple's latest iPhone, Apple iPhone 4 was announced today by Steve Jobs at Apple's WWDC 2010. Company claims that the iPhone 4 will be the 'thinnest smartphone on the planet' which measures just 9.3 mm only. The device is made with glass optical quality and scratch resistance and stainless steelwith integrated antennas.



The device features high resolution 3.5-inch display with 960 x 640 resolution and offers four times pixel density with 326 pixels per inch. iphone 4 has a contrast ratio of 800:1 (though it is something lesser than the OLED devices). It offers IPS technology which is better than OLED based displays. Steve Job announced a new feature for their iPhone4, the retinal display which makes higher resolution to look even smoother and better.


The device is using Apple A4 chip, the same which is used in Apple's iPad. iPhone 4 will offers excellent battery life, 300 hours of stand by, 7 hours talk time, 6 hours of browsing over 3G, 10 hours of browsing over Wi-Fi,10 hours of video and 40 hours of music.


Steve Jobs claims that the device is more enviormental friendly and highly recyclable by using mercury free, arsenic free, BFR-free, PVC free materials.


The new iphone  features Dual mics with noise supression, 802.11n WiFi, Accelerometer, GPS,GSM, UMTS, Bluetooth, Front facing camera,Quad band HSDPA/HSUPS 7.2 Mbps etc. The device is coming with the same MicroSIM technology as used in iPad, which allow the users to use any other SIM if the contract is completed.


The new device also offers multi tasking and also multitude of new functionality. The iphone4 is shipping with new iPhone OS 4.0.
