Gigabyte Ultrabook U2442N and U2442V Features 14-Inch Higher Resolution Display

Gigabyte entered into the Ultrabook market with Gigabyte U244, a device with higher resolution and packs something interesting for you packed with in a a striking and stylish design. The company is offering two models of the device including U2442N and U2442V. Both of them packed up with Ivy Bridge class Core i5 or i7 processor and rocks with a 14-inch display. Gigabyte U2442N measures just 18.5mm thick at its narrowest point and weighs around 1.49Kg, with Intel core i5/i7 standard voltage processor which delivers tremendous performance, while U2442V while U2442V is drawing the power from 3rd generation Intel CoreTM i5/i7 ULV processor. Both the processors rocks with NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M GPU with 2GB VRAM.


The most interesting feature of the device is its higher resolution display, 1600 x 900 pixel, while most of the ultrabooks stick on ato 1366 x 768 pixel display. The ultrabook features a hybrid SSD & HDD, up to 512GB of SSD and HDD to 1TB. And the processor used to power the device, Ivy BridgeCore i5-3320 is working in in 17W or 24W TDP modes, 2.6Ghz for the ‘mobile’ version and we suspect 1.8Ghz for the ultra-mobile version.


Other features of the devices includes Back-lit keyboard, Bluetooth 4.0, mini display port, HDMI, VGA etc. The device also provides Thunderbolt connections and also Centrino 2xxx series WiFi module inside which should provide WiFi capability.
