Last week the specification on the Lenovo's upcoming Windows 8 tablet hit the halls of the internet via official documentation, but there were no specified time window for the launching of the device, and now the company has officially announced the device, and points on the October release of the device, that will definitely by the end of October, as all of us knows that Windows 8 will be landing on October 26th.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, a 10-inch Windows 8 tablet, replaces the original Android powered ThinkPad tablet, not in size, but in its innards. The size of both the devices are same, but under the display, it's an extremely different device.
Intel's Atom processor is the driving force behind this Windows 8 tablet, and it offers 8MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera, full sized USB ports, micro HDMI etc. The features of the new tablet is not ending here, the tablet is also coming with some pre-loaded business friendly features like fingerprint reader, NFC connectivity, IT management software etc.It is also coming up with an optional active digitizer to use the tablet with a digital pen as well as with your fingers, and also an optional keyboard dock.
The ThinkPad Tablet 2 measures less than 0.4 inches and weighs about 1.3 pounds. The tablet is available in both 3G and 4G models, and is set to hit AT&T’s 4G LTE network in US.
