Just after the official announcement of Samsung's Galaxy Note II, the company goes official with Samsung Ativ S, the first ever handset to feature Microsoft's latest mobile software Windows 8. Samsung Ativ S previously known as Samsung Odyssey and leaked many times.

The smartphone is coming with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor. The device offers 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB on board storage and there is a microSD card support for additional storage needs. The rear camera is 8MP with autofocus and LED flash, while the 1.9P front facing camera nicely captures you when you are on a video call. The phone features NFC and 42Mbps HSPA+,  Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, support. The device measures 137.2 x 70.5 x 8.7 mm, weighs 135 grams. The 2,300mAh battery power your day.

Microsoft released a preview of its Windows Phone 8 software back in June, and promised a possible autumn release of their first handset. Nokia was expected to be the first manufacturer to revel the Windows 8 device, and Finnish mobile firm has set for an event for Windows 8 on September 5. But surprisingly Samsung over run the Fins and became the first on the list. The quick announcement of the device points like that the company is planning to concentrate on Windows devices as recently US jury decided many of Samsung's Google Android-based phones infringed Apple Inc patents.
