Sony Xperia Tablet S Official Now, Brings The Tablet Under Their Xperia Brand

As expected earlier, Sony introduced their debut tablet under their prestigious brand name Xperia, and the new tablet dubbed as Sony Xperia Tablet S made its turn at the rumor columns a couple of times and was expected to be announced in the IFA venue, and most of the features rumored turned out to be real.



The Japanese company have always concentrated on their design, and always came up with some extremely stylish device that you can't resist to go after. Here in this tablet also, Sony has never left behind their stylish design strategy, and the new Xperia tablet has got a classic and elegant exterior with an ultra thin and light aluminium body and sports a splash-proof design that can also be operated with wet hands.


The 9.4-inch IPS OptiContrast LCD display offers 1280 x 800 resolution, and offers a with low-friction coating. The tablet delivers a quad core processing power with NVIDIA Tegra3 quad-core processor, and offers a top end performance. The device will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions. The tablet running on Android 4.0 ICS will be upgraded to 4.1 without much delay.


The cameras in the tablet are really impressive, it offers an 8MP rear camera and a 1 MP front facing one. Xperia Tablet offers Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) and 3G while the port options are full-sized SD port, USB, HDMI, Multi Port, Microphone, Headphone Out, Stereo Speaker etc. The Xperia tablet also offers the IR sensor, that was there in the original
Tablet S model, and can convert the device into a remote control. The 6000 mAh battery provides up to 10 hours Internet browsing / 12 hours video playback.


The device measures 241.2mmW x 8.8mm H1/11.85mm H2 x 174.4mm in dimensions and weighs around 570g for Wi-Fi models & 585g 3G models. Sony also offers some accessories along with the device, including a $99 Cover with Keyboard case, an ultra thin keyboard, and a $99 docking stand that helps the tablet to rest up on a pedestal like a TV.


Sony has also made some software tweaks on the Xperia Tablet S including guest mode, and Small Apps, the Guest Mode allows the user for a personalised profiles for family and temporary users, while the Small Apps runs on the top of other applications, like Mini Remote, that controls the volume with a small remote widget on your tablet when playing music. The company also brings Music and Video Unlimited apps as a trial.


Sony Xperia Tablet S is set for a September 7 launch, and if you are looking for one, you can pre-order now. Sony offering the tablet for $399 for the 16GB model, $499 for the 32 gig version and $599 for the 64GB tablet.
