
Frankfurt Motorshow was the venue for global debut of many innovative cars. Volkswagen unveiled its new high-zoot R version of the MK VI Golf at this venue last month, but the company is yet to announce whether the Americans get a chance to buy one.
The newest R-badged Golf motivating with turbocharging and couples of cylinders, AWD system keep all that power from being wasted at the front wheels. The R20 will be powered by an advanced 2.0L engine which is capable of producing 265 hp and 258 lb-fty, probably an exact duplicate of the Scirocco R20 engine.
The changes like LED daylight running lamps, new front grille, plenty of fresh R-badging and tasteful two tone treatments makes the car more beautiful. VW of America CEO Stefan Jacoby told that no decision has been taken about R20 and they are studying the possibilities of R20 for America.
And Andres Valbuena, the product planner for tha Golf told that R20 should come as no surprise, and it is available in both two- and four-door bodystyles with manual or DSG transmission as you like and all R20s would be equipped with all-wheel drive
