Nokia is deliberately to create an impact in US markets with its latest device launches. The efforts of this Finnish company is going on and they hope to double their market share in next twelve months as they have a low share (around 5%) in US which is a big gap from its global share of 38%. Now the Nokia and AT&T the second largest wireless service provider in United States, are coming together to debut a Symbian handset based on Qualcomm chipset.

The specification of this new device is still unknown. However it is supposed to be a mid-tier handset with a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset that shows up in various forms and may be Symbian's low cost and conservative power requirements suit the ecological niche in the US.
Nokia is also planning to debute a US version of N900 Maemo 5 smartphone that was announced in last September.
