It seems like that Samsung is looking to take on Google Nexus One and Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 by announcing their latest powerful Android-based Super AMOLED display handset Galaxy S GT-I9000. The device is coming with several advanced features to impress you.


The basic specifications of Galaxy S GT-I9000 includes

  • 1GHz processor, 8GB or 16GB on board storage

  • 5-megapixel autofocus camera

  • quadband GSM and triband (900/1900/2100) UMTS/HSPA.

  • microSD card slot expanded up to 32GB

The device is running on Android 2.1. One of the main features of the device is Samsung's own custom UI and a social hub which integrates all the social networking functionality. The device is also coming with several pre-loaded app like Swype, a DLNA streaming app, Layar, ThinkFree Office viewer etc.


There is no words on pricing and availability. But it is expected to be launched some time in this year itself, and will be coming to North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America soon.
