As you know Samsung is a prestigious name in the field of manufacturing all sorts of storage and memory products for business machines and also for consumers. Now the company is coming up with its memory modules built using 40nm technology for server systems.
These memory modules features very high capacity of storage and have 32 GB of memory in a single RDIMM module, which is particularly designed to use in server environments. The chip has got a two time increase in its capacity when compared to the 16GB 2GB modules which was launched last year.
Using this RDIMM module with its new 40nm technology, and 4Gb DDR 3 will make a dual CPU server to have upto 384GB of RAM. The company also claims that replacing 12 16 GB DRAM with six 32GB will reduce the power usage by 40% and 32% increase in speed in a server.
The company will start the mass production of this chipset by next month.
