Acer's First Attempt In Android - Acer Liquid Seems To Fail

The Acer Liquid through which it entered into the Android market now seems to be a failure. The device with an attractive design has failed to make an impact on the consumers. Analysts believe that it is because of their lack of previous experience.

Acer entered the mobile market in 2009 after their purchase of E-Ten back in 2008, and the four Windows Mobiles released last year had also failed to excite the market.

The Liquid looks good with 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display with 480 x 800 resolution which is apt for easy web browsing. However the device is a little bulky being 12.5 mm thick. The lack of slide out keyboard also left a negative mark on the device. The camera is 5 megapixel which is good but required a well lit background to get good snaps because of the lack of flash. The battery life is also very poor.

They are now planning to launch a new line of devices later in 2010. Hope this will impress the market.
