The Texet makes a different approach as they introduce their tablet EZB890. The tablet features a 500MHz MIPS processor while most tablets in the market uses an ARM based chipset for their tablet PC's. It runs a custom Linux distribution.
Other features includes a 8.9-inch touch screen display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 2 USB ports, 4 GB flash storage and a microSD card slot, 802.11b/g WiFi, and a 3 hour battery. The device also comes with a 3G modem and a SIM card slot.
It is coming with a number of open source applications like AbiWord for word processing, Firefox web browser, Gnumeric for editing spreadsheets and also features a media player which supports XViD, MPEG and a bunch of other formats.
EZB890 is available for a price of $300 without subsidy. Subsidized price is also available.
