CES 2010: Acer Aspire AS5740 and AS7740 For $749

Acer extended their Aspire series with two new notebooks at the CES 2010. 15.6-inch AS5740 and 17.3-inch AS7740 are the new members in Aspire family. The devices are powered by Intel's advanced Core i3 and i5 Arrandale processors. You can select from either Core i5-430M 2.26GHz CPUs or Core i3-330M 2.13GHz.

These laptops are good for gaming. The features of Aspire AS5740 includes a 15.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, 2.26-GHz Intel Core i5-430M CPU, 4GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 GPU (with 1GB of video memory), Windows 7 ($74.49) Home Premium (64-bit), 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 500GB HDD, Webcam, 8X Super Drive, Multi-gesture touchpad, Four USB ports and HDMI, and all these packed within a dimension of 15.1 x 9.9 x 1.0-inch and weighs just 6.1 pounds.

The specifications for the AS7740 includes 2.13-Ghz Core i3-330M CPU, 17.3-inch display with 1600 x 900 resolution, 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, 4GB of RAM, Blu-ray, Intel GMA HD GPU, Memory card reader, Webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 500GB HDD, Multi-gesture touchpad, four USB ports and HDMI, all in just 7 pounds weight and 16.1 x 10.7 x 1.5-inch dimensions.


These two notebooks also feature Acer's glossy sapphire blue exterior design and textured NeoWave palm rest with rounded edges. Both notebooks will start shipping from January 17th for a price tag of $749.
