The other device introduced along with Huawei's Ascend Mate, a smartphone with a behemoth display, at the CES 2013 venue is the Ascend D2, company's flagship device for this season. Ascend D2, like most of the high end smartphones, comes with a 5-inch 1080p display that offers 443ppi pixel density. Under the display hides a home made K3V2 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU assisted with a GPU and houses a 2GB of RAM, as in Ascend Mate. The 32GB internal storage can be expanded with the support of microSD card.

The 13 MP BSI camera on the rear side offers 1080p video recording. There is also a 1.3 MP front facing camera for video chat. Ascend D2 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, It weighs 170, and the 9.9 mm thick device with aluminium body and a metal frame comes with water and dust proof design.

Huawei also implemented the power saving technology Huawei's proprietary Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) battery efficiency technology, that offers 30% advantage for their 3,000 mAh battery, over other mobile devices. Huawei Ascend D2 will be available in this month itself, with China being the first country to get it.
