
Leaked just last week, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Xcover 2 S7710, a ruggedized addition to their Galaxy family. The new Galaxy Xcover is coming as the successor to their Xcover introduced back in 2011 , and was reported to debut at MWC platform scheduled next month. But it look like the Xcover can't wait until then, and goes official before that.
Like its previous version, Xcover 2 comes with IP67 certification, that makes the device a dust proof and waterproof. One more added feature Samsung introduced in the device is the battery lock, that's the battery is secured into place by a special lock, gives an additional protection from accidental drops.

The Xcover 2 features a 4 inch WVGA TFT display, and is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor. Under the hood there is 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory expandable with a MicroSD card support. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the OS used in the device. Other features includes a Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, HSPA, GPS with Glonass, Music Player with SoundAlive, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and dedicated key, VGA front-facing camera, etc.
The device measures 130.5 x 67.7 x 12 mm, and weighs 148.5 grams, bigger and heavier than its original version.
No idea on the release and price details, but it may breaks it cover at MWC.
