Ascend W1 is not a high end Windows Phone 8 device, but still the company tried to include a reasonable array of features within an affordable budget phone. The device features a 4" WVGA tocuh screen IPS LCD display with 480 x 800 resolution, and keeps a 10.mm profile. Under the hood, you will get a dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor and the Adreno 305 GPU power along with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The back side is equipped with 5 MP shooter with LED flash that offers 720p video recording. There is also a VGA front facing camera too. It houses a 1950 mAh battery and the company claims that the Ascend W1 uses a new power saving technology that saves 30% power consumption.

The Ascend W1 falls within the same design aesthetics of regular Windows Phone 8 devices by Nokia or HTC. Huawei is planning to offer the device first in China and Russia in this month itself, and the Western Europe, Middle East and USA will be getting it starting from next month.
