Seems like Google is satisfied with LG's phone making abilities, as they are planning to offer a second chance for the Korean makers. The latest reports says that the LG will be making the fifth generation Nexus device.
Even though there is no words from LG and Google, the Korean Times reports about LG's involvement in the Nexus 4 successor. In an article about Google CEO Larry Page and his recent visit to the Korea, the source points about the possibility of LG made Nexus device.

The source also noted that the Korean makers want to work more closely with search giant on ‘futuristic’ projects as well. When Google CEO Larry Page visited Korea recently he met Koo Bon-joon, CEO of LG Electronics and they seems to have discussed about a wide range of topics, and it covers their plans to partner for Google Glass and Web-connected TVs, but nothing is confirmed now.
“Currently, the consumer electronics arm of LG Group is working with Internet-giant Google to make another Nexus-branded Google Android smartphone. LG is seeking to expand its partnership in TVs and future businesses, such as Google Glass,” says Korean Times in the report.
Google is now releasing Nexus as an annual device, and each year they are partnering with different makers, and HTC, Samsung and LG finished their Nexus device till now, and we saw Samsung made Nexus device twice. But now it seems like that LG is also ready for a double performance.
No other details on the device are available now, but it will definitely be a greater device to compete with other high end devices. We can expect a 1080p display, Android 5.0 and a quad core processing power.
