It's already known that the Samsung is working on Tizen based devices and the company VP Lee Young Hee has already confirmed in an interview that
“the Tizen phone will be out in August or September, and this will be in the high-end category. The device will be the best product equipped with the best specifications.”
The Tizen devices rumored were only known with their model numbers till now -- the GT-I8800 and GT-I8805. But now they are getting their names, and have allegedly shown up in some developer documentation for Tizen, named as Redwood and Melius. We don't have any exact information on the devices, but the reports says that the Redwood is a high-end device with 4G LTE connectivity, while the Melius is a mid-level one with 3G. Both the devices will feature the latest Tizen OS version 2.1, code named Magnolia.
From the available details we can guess that the Redwood will carry a model number of GT-I8805, as it is a high end device and Melius will obviously have GT-I8800 as the model number. The devices will be landing first in US and Europe launch follows after that.
Samsung is not the only makers to show their affection on Tizen OS, and in fact Chinese makers Huawei and NTT DoCoMo are also planning to introduce their Tizen devices soon.
