Just as expected Facebook officially unveiled the new Facebook 'Home, that replaces the original Android home with in-depth Facebook experience. The new 'Home' takes the soul of Facebook and gives the users full-screen photos, status updates, and notifications. This modified OS' makes your Android smartphone more people-centric rather app centric.

The new Home is set to release on April 12 in US and will be landing on the Google Play Store on the same day. Both Android Jelly Bean and Honey Comb sill support the new OS, but sorry for the Gingerbread users as it won't run on your devices. HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy S III, and Samsung Galaxy Note II are the first few devices that supports the new Home. Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are the other devices in the waiting.
Right now, it won't available for Android tablets but the Facebook techies are trying to make it available on tablets within a few months. At the event they announced that the Facebook will release a Home update that adds new features and make it accessible to new devices, in every month.
If you have the most recent Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps on your smartphone, then you will be able to download the Home. You can find a banner alert to download Home from the Google Play store. You can select one of the two options, “try once”, or choose “always”, when you launch it the first time.
Facebook have partnered with AT&T, Orange, Qualcomm, HTC, Samsung, Huawei, Sony, EE, ZTE, Lenovo, and Alcatel to deliver the new Home experience for the users.
The main changes in the new Home screen are in the lock screen, home screen, and messaging features. With the Lock screen users will get a continuous feed of the status updates of their friends, with their Facebook cover photos as a background.
